“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” — 2 Peter 3:8 (NIV)
This verse is often used to comfort, but to a neurodivergent mind that relies on strict alarms and calendars to survive, God’s lack of timekeeping sounds like a nightmare. It can feel like God (and the Church) has missed the deadline to give you an answer. Yet, this divine flexibility is also what gives us grace when we inevitably miss our deadlines, drop the ball, or need more time to process.
